I would certainly ask your unit S3 and your ROTC department to better clarify Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 3 at 2016 9:37 PM 2016-03-03T21:37:22-05:00 2016-03-03T21:37:22-05:00 CPT Private RallyPoint Member 1352900 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had to go in 2011 when I was an smp cadet and the week I returned went right to LDAC. Lee Mudd 1352903 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Short answer: no. SMP cadets hold 09R as their primary MOS, and as trainees, are nondeployable personnel. There is no battle roster position for them to hold on the CTC 'deployment.' <br /><br />That said, your unit can send you to other schools or training opportunities. Good luck! Response by LTC J. So, for example, if you had an early ROTC Advance Camp cycle and your Guard unit had a late summer NTC rotation that ended before school started in the fall, you could go to NTC with your unit. But don't sweat it if you don't get to go this time; you will have plenty of opportunities to attend after you get commissioned. LOL! In many cases, SMP Cadets (AOC 09R) are assigned as Platoon Leaders or Assistant Staff Officers at BN level or above. The same holds true fir ECT exercises (WAREX, CSTX, etc.). We had SMP cadets train with my units throughout my career. The only caveat is that it cannot interfere with mandatory cadet training (advance camp or basic camp), which has to take priority. Our BN has many SMP Cadets that WILL go to NTC with us and we schedule our ECTs at NYC to coincide with summer breaks. You are not being deployed. Get with uour commander and XO, they should be able to assist you.
