Can a Marine who is awarded the Army Accommodation Medal, wear it on his Marine uniform?

As far as I understand Marines can't be awarded Army medals because the Marine Corps prohibits it. We were going to award some Marines in my class an achievement medal and were informed they would have to be submitted as Navy achievement medals.
