SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3333624 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This might be a huge no brainer question, as my first instinct is to say a big flat NO...<br />But then for the fun of it (I say that because I’m really not wishing to apply for PR in Canada as it’s just not viable right now) I looked into the UCMJ, I called the Dept of State, I even tried reaching USCIS, and no one had an answer. Is there even an existent law or am I the first in history to even ask? Can a National Guardsman obtain permanent residency in another country and stay in the Guard? 2018-02-07T22:35:24-05:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3333624 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This might be a huge no brainer question, as my first instinct is to say a big flat NO...<br />But then for the fun of it (I say that because I’m really not wishing to apply for PR in Canada as it’s just not viable right now) I looked into the UCMJ, I called the Dept of State, I even tried reaching USCIS, and no one had an answer. I know you don&#39;t have to reside in the state where your unit is located and I can&#39;t find anything that says you have to live in the US as long as you maintain a US Citizenship.
