SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4519198 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Im a 14 year SSG and I am coming up on 2years TIG. Im trying to catch up to my former peers, so I called my branch schools manager to get a date. I got the date and class reservation email now, but some people I have talked to are saying I can only attend SLC if I am promotable. Is this true? Everything seemed right while talking to the schools manager. Can a non-promotable SSG attend SLC? 2019-04-06T10:04:24-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4519198 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Im a 14 year SSG and I am coming up on 2years TIG. Also, a reserve soldier. That was in 2017 though. Their experience is not your experience as you can see. You don’t have to be promotable to attend. It may be harder to get a date but you don’t have to be promotable. You can’t pin on E7 without SLC, so this will put you ahead of some of your peers upon your selection to SFC. Congratulations on getting your date and good luck to you.... Priority is everyone who is promotable first. Right now most lists have promotables sitting on a list up to 2 years waiting for a class seat, so those MOSs aren&#39;t slotting non promotables.<br />Use this experience as an example of why you always go to the source for the information as opposed to listening to your peers. As a matter of fact you should be going to get you ready for the promotion board for E-7. The same thing happened to me and I was passed over for not having SLC completed since others did. Your unit should be pushing you to school or you will be passed over for other Soldiers who have it completed. get your CSM involved in your career path.
