Can a person with asthma join the army? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-a-person-with-asthma-join-the-army <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I ask this because I got a friend that receive a call from a recruiter saying that she was not eligible for the army. Is kind of weird because I have seen many people with different illnesses both physically and internally, and they continue to serve. You can not lump everything together. Some illness is treatable, so are treatable but it takes intensive work. Some are just impossible. Asthma is tricky-1, How serious? 2. How much medication. 3. Does the condition restrict them from serving in certain MOS&#39;s?. Imagine a person with this trying to work in a motorpool, or with mortars/FA. My line medics carry 60-80 lbs in their bags- they DID not carry inhalers! Try being a light grunt or even Mech and have an attack! More than likely die, unless Doc is good doing tracheas.
