Hey Guys, so I'm in the final stages of leaving the Air Force Reserve and going Active Duty Army. I was wondering if a prior service member is able to get airborne school in their contract?

Sure, if you request it and meet the medical requirements

Reason I ask is because the recruiter told me prior service dont get to opt-in to specialty schools. I found that odd.

I did. I went from the Florida National Guard, straight into the 82ND, hence, they had to give me Airborne School. I got Airborne School, Duty Station of Choice (Ft. Bragg, soon to be Ft. ?????), and Unit of Choice (1/505 PIR).
