If you have the authorization based on either orders or a DA 638 then you could wear it. It should be reflecting on your ERB but sometimes it may take a while to reflect. The ERB and DD214 is not a document that shows the authorization of an award but is used as a reference. You still need a copy of the original orders or DA 638. What&#39;s correct sir, is what your award orders say. That said sometimes you don&#39;t receive documentation for service awards, they just get added to your record. Everything else though you&#39;ll have a 4187, a 638, or some kind of letter order authorizing the award.
