Do a MDMP on the AO that you plan on retiring. First thing for that area is who is hiring. Develop your Rolodex now and start shaking hands and meeting people. It’s all about who you know. As a Fox I think you will have no problems finding work. I’m always checking the job market and I see Fox stuff everywhere. SIGINT not so much. You prob already know about The Army Cool website. There is a job search tool on there I found to be helpful doing job queries plus they offer free certificate training/education for your MOS. I’d even hit the DMDC office and talk to one of the civilians and see if they can share some knowledge on how to get into the civilian sector. Networking is the way to go for us Intel folks. Best of luck to you. So back when I was going to get out last year (before I re-up'd) I went through hireheroes.org. They set me up with a specialist there and I sent them my ERB along with my NCOERs, schools, etc. and she did a resume for me. I put it up online and I still get job offers, mainly contracting security stuff. They don't do as great when they overplay the MIL Card in their resume, interview, and their own head. Don't rub other peoples' noses into your service. While you're out there, make sure you demonstrate how you'll make the company more successful and how next to zero overhead you'll impose on them.
