Can an 18 year old have a concealed carry if they're in the Military?

If you have all the proper training and documentation required by law per your state, and you do not have any domestic violence nor any other criminal activity on your records, you should be good. But don't bring that weapon on base without all the proper documentation and notifications done prior.

To CYA I'd check with your state police as well your CoC about CC while in uniform. IL you need to be 21 for handgun. I'm CCW in IL if that helps.

Depends on your state. Ours here in MO was 21 years old for concealed carry regardless of service.

Not in Illinois. You have to be 21, and even if you were in the Army (your in the Army National Guard).

Most likely not unless it is part of your mos like an military police but I'd still talk to a local prosecutor and see what it is legally. I know in Ohio we have a military police attachment and they are supposed to be able to carry concealed but only on base doesn't cover outside. My advice be very careful

Concealed carry permits are issued from the sheriff's office of the county in which you live. Federally, while you can purchase firearms at 19, you can not carry until you are 21. Your military status, in this case, is irrelevant.

I know in Illinois you have to have a Foid card before getting a CCW permit. You have to check with ISP! I do know IL is not a favorable Gun State! As far as I know this once you complete range in BCT! You can transfer that to when you apply for CCW permit you won’t have to take the safety course! As of now all ages for a permit 21 as this only applies to hand Guns aka pistols! You don’t need permit for long guns! I know IL is not an open carry state!

You will need to check local laws and regulations. Most states require you to be 21 to purchase/own a handgun. I'm not aware of any states that make exceptions for military.
