Oh, that's pretty straightforward. Right now, you're located at that yellow star. If you head in the direction of any of those arrows, you will see an immediate improvement in your surroundings.
Really, once you're out of that gross red colored area, things immediately start improving.

A great and safe community is Fort Worth and UNT has a campus related to healthcare, not sure which specialties are offered, there is also Texas Wesleyan University...
