Can anybody either help or add to my Aviation WOCS packet?

New here, sorry if formatting or any rules are broken.
I am ready to submit my 153A packet on deadline 18may18 for the July board. I am still waiting on my Battalion Commanders Lettie and he wants to introduce me to the SWO on bliss as they are good friends.
Question is here to help my anxiety. I have a 58 SIFT score and 115 GT on the AFCT (:/)the physical is all well (H2 hearing waiver has been approved by the flight surgeons at Rucker) and rest of paperwork is done to include DA photo. I am an 11B E5 sergeant and my resumes includes my CIB, EIB, commandants list from BLC and a prior soldier of the month. finally, I will have 34 credits from AMU after this physics class ends next week. Does this packet sound strong?

You’ll be fine, I had some pretty similar scores as you and I got picked up. The army is hurting for pilots right now. Just be sure to professionally present your packet to the SWO as if you were applying for a job. I can say don’t worry, but I was the same way you were. Just take a deep breathe and let the rest take care of itself. The hardest part is the packet.

You actually sound quite good, certainly, though I'm nomjudge, of course...if you could, elaborate, do a really meet sloped thorough bio sketch, interests, hobbies, reading, sports, martial arts, also exact actual course titles, grades, GPAs, high school AP coursework as well...also, was the physics calc based? Have you done full calc both differential as well as integral? Have you done physics lab? Have you done any !modern physics, notmcpassicap physics at all? What associates major do you want? What bachelor's major? Grad school major? Masters? PhD? Have yoynhad any prior aviation exposure? Private pilot? Instrument rating? Multiengine? Private helicopter orientation? Airframe and power plant FSA level training? Habenyou done any reading on aerodynamics and esp helicopter flight control systems at alp? Domyou want a STEM major?mid so, which, or what range of possibles? I'm trying to help you focus in specifics, not generalities honest...is theremammilitarymaero club around your installation atnall? Have you availed my our self omit at all? If so, to what extent? I have experience with the application process. For personal reasons, I decided not to move forward with the process. But, I can give some pointers based on my experience

Most WO selection boards are looking for things that indicate that you will be strong leader. Thus any key leadership indicators will be valuable. I don't know how long you have been an NCO but NCOERs that rate you high and have quantifiable rated time in leadership positions are a plus. The Commandants list and soldier of the month are also great things to have. APFT scores: the higher the better. Since you made the commandant's list at BLC, it can be assumed that you score well on the APFT.

One thing that could be important is how well you constructed your biography. I had a conversation with my Proponent Chief WO about my packet and he thought my bio needed improvement. It was not enough to just list the schools and major events in my career, but to personalize the bio by telling how I applied and used what I learned at school when I returned to my unit(s). I don't know how much difference there is between considering a wing warrant and a walking warrant, but I think at the initial part of the process..getting into the WOCC...is largely dependent on how well you sell yourself and how well you present your leadership potential.

I have been selected for the process twice, ended up changing branches, but I am quite familiar with the process. First of all, relax! I will emphasize the stiff competition. The biggest thing they are looking for is someone that will make it through the whole process. There are a lot of dudes that make it and quit and some people fail things and wash out or get DUIs. Don’t be any of those guys! WOCS is no big deal, I’m assumig you will be the 5 week course, as you are an E5, most likely have an NCO course that moves you ahead. Most important of all, if you don’t get in the first time, do it again. That will show you didn’t quit and thus will be less likely to quit when you get there. 18 months is a log time and if you are active duty, you could be held up longer.

Another important thing, show that you are flexible in whatever happens. What I mean by this is don’t get tied to 1 specific aircraft that you think you want to fly, you may not get that airframe at selection.

How much do you know about Aviation? Not about flying, but Aviation as a whole? Like what track you may be on later in your career, ie instructor pilot, maintenance test pilot, safety or Tacops. Don’t appear particularly tied to any of those either, you maybe do any or all of them in your career.

Do you know how many slots they are looking to fill?

Are you a strong swimmer?? Good at Land Nav?

This is a long post and idk if it will be that helpful, but I have been through the process and can help, ask me anything.

WHEN you get selected, make sure you have your living arrangements scared away for after WOCs. Try to find other folks that you can room with in close proximity to post. You will be checking in 3 times a day when you are in a training bubble, that’s a lot of gas and driving if you live 15 minutes off post
