Can anyone explain how the points are determined for the new National Guard Promotion Guidelines?

It's my understanding that the old points system has gone away and the new weighs more heavily on NCOERs, ACCP, College Credit, and PT

This is true. For E-5 and above the board now looks at and weigh heavily upon the last 5 NCOERs. I will be sitting on the E-5 board for my state next month, and am looking forward to seeing exactly what the particulars are, and I feel that each state will be slightly different so long as they adhere to AR 600-8-19 and NGR 600-200. After the board I will get back to you on the specifics.

I always thought that it was just a simple matter of "Oh, you have the most points? Here you go!" or "Oh, you're going to whine and complain that you've been here x years (which is y years fewer than someone else) but you deserve to be promoted? Here you go!"
