I have been preparing my warrant packet and will soon be complete. Interested in the actual position duties associated Can anyone give me a little some insight on what I will do as a 131A assigned to a special forces unit? 2017-12-11T01:41:37-05:00 CW2 Private RallyPoint Member 3162146 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am trying to find some insight from a field Artillery targeting technician assigned to a special forces unit. And I would never recommend for anyone to ever do that. You need to have some experience (as a 132A) so that you can properly make recommendations that make sense. As far as duties and responsibilities, this is not the venue for that. I recommend that you drive out to one of those units once you get to your first duty station and meet with one of those 131A&#39;s so you get solid advise. You should focus on getting your packet together so you get selected on your first look. Then Focus on getting scheduled for WOCS, then WOBC, etc. Don&#39;t forget that the assignments officer has a final say as well so get your pitch ready for when you meet him. The choices are limited. If I were to give consent for an open assignment, the closest FA unit is 6/7 hours away and that’s just not feasible in a reserve component. The SF unit is right down the road vacant, and interested in me. Our regional strength manager come to me, as qualified people for that mos are few and far between. However, you should call one of the active duty 131A&#39;s that&#39;s assigned to an SF unit nearest to you and schedule a meeting. With all deployments it&#39;s difficult to get a hold of someone right away. Be prepared to have to drive out to Fort Bragg or Fort Campbell. You won&#39;t regret it. As far as going to WOBC, go to the same course as the active duty 131A&#39;s. Otherwise you&#39;re setting yourself up for failure if you try to go one month per year at a time. This is NOT a simple MOS and the Infantry Brigade/SF Group Commanders are not very patient with officers that don&#39;t know their jobs. So make sure that&#39;s something you consider.
