Member is separating and headed home, with a new kiddo on the way they are looking to make sure that there is no lapse in work. We are trying to get a POC that we can reach out to for information on jobs and requirements.

USA Jobs. Limit search by organization. Largest employer is NAS Fallon. Look for jobs with the Department of the Navy. Located in an agricultural area and a small population, you might also look for US Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Land Management or Department of Health and Human Services.

First of all, Without a waiver, a Service member cannot work in a GS position for 180 days after separation. Not many people are doing waivers. As far as POC's you can go to USAJobs and take a look for any positions available worldwide. Your friends best bet if he wants to continue working for the Government is to find Contractor jobs at the location he wants to go to. There is no such 180 day requirement for those. Its what i did when i Retired in October. My 180 days will be up on 01 Apr and i can be hired as a GS Civilian.

Sounds good, I am having him route the waiver as a possibility but to cya I am having him look over some other potential jobs on the site as well as looking over some of the contractor jobs that might be available.

Like ive said before, the waiver will not come from him. he has nothing to do with it. If the hiring official wants to hire him, before the 6 months is up. It is that hiring officials job to do the waiver. Your friend does nothing for the waiver. Nothing. He cant do anything.

If I'm not mistaken the waiver is only required for GS positions within DOD.
