JFTR paragraph 7060, DoDI 1327.06, and AR 614-30 paragraph 4-1 discuss COT leave, but essentially just seem to reference each other in an endlessly circuitous manner.

Can anyone offer any comments on COT leave? I'm especially interested in paragraph F(3)b of JFTR Chapter 7A9 section 7060, which discusses options for cash or 30 days of leave in lieu of COT leave.

Thanks! Can anyone offer comments on Consecutive Overseas Tour (COT) leave? 2015-01-31T04:31:46-05:00 MAJ Private RallyPoint Member 446421

I'm on orders for a COT. One of the greatest benefits about the COT is that you get a free flight to your home of record. That is including your dependents as well. You also don't have to take it during your PCS leave. I didn't know this until after the fact, but you can use it while you are taking regular leave as well. The only catch to that is that you have until 1 year to use once you sign in to your next duty assignment. You can also go somewhere else beside your home of record, but you may have to pay the difference. I think its a great benefit especially since I can't really afford to fly my family back home on round trip at a E4 pay. Hopefully I was able to help you out sir.
