Can anyone point me to permanent orders concerning unit awards for HHC 1-110, and 2-28 BCT for OIF in 2005-06?

I was part of the Kentucky Heavy mortars platoon in Habbaniyah. Once we redeployed to CONUS, I transferred states to Indiana, and missed out on getting some of the award documentation. I would really like to get it added to my record. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

https://www.hrc.army.mil/TAGD/Unit%20Awards has excel spreadsheets with ALL approved unit awards, both GWOT and before, with links to the actual PDF's of the award. A cursory glance didn't turn up anything for those units during that time frame, but you should look too just to make sure.

Thank you all for all of the help. I've been able to locate the paperwork for our Navy Unit Commendation. It would appear that without our UICs and those of the unitS we were atttached to, I may be out of luck in further search. I'll contact State PAO offices for further assistance on any State level awards. Thank you once again.

If you still have a CAC card you can go to FMS web run by USAFMSA (Google USAFMSA). Once in there, you can look up by unit name and location, snag the UICs. Also I have good luck googling the unit name along with "UIC"

At the end of the Wikipedia link, is that the TF you were in? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2nd_Infantry_Brigade_Combat_Team,_28th_Infantry_Division

You will need the UIC of the unit you were assigned to and search the data base. Multiple links are in https://www.hrc.army.mil/TAGD/Unit%20Awards. Sometimes there is a higher unit issued the citation. It is important for you to identify your unit specifically in the award citation units listing for that particular award. Little known fact. You can't be attached in CENTCOM. You are OPCON to Centcom and they can only OPCON your unit to another. This has little effect in your daily life, but gets dicey for unit award purposes.
Once you identify the specific unit citation for that period and unit, you will need documents showing you assigned to the unit, at the time it was awarded. TCS orders, ERBs, NCOERs all support this. Your personnel center can take this and annotate it in your ERB.

You can request record through the National Archives. http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/
It is not limited to your DD214. If you have other awards you can request that your 214 be amended.
