Can anyone tell me if bedding is provided at your duty station when living in the barracks?

Most likely not at your unit and maybe at your replacement(in-processing) I haven't seen linen issued at a duty station since I was a private. Wait until you get to your unit before you buy too much. The last thing you want to do is to be doing the duffel bag drag everywhere while reporting with a bunch of extra stuff.

Yes, some places will issue you linen (if you are living in the temporary barracks) temporarily until you can get your own. If all else fails call to your next unit and find out.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Plan like they will not issue linen. Always hope for the best but plan for the worst.

Depends on the location. From my experience though, even if they do offer it, bring your own. It is usually torn up and stained with god knows what. Not something I would want to use especially if the option existed to spend a few dollars on my own clean stuff.

Many moons ago, when I lived in a Navy barracks (2006), bedding was provided, but it sucked. If they allow it, I'd still use my own.

Back in AIT they gave you linen which had to be turned in every week. Though since mine was long we had different privileges after you earned them. They were "phases" such as phase IV, phave V, and phase V+. Only after you weren't phase IV were you allowed to have civilian linen. You will be briefed when you get to your AIT unit. If you can I recommend suffering through the military linen (depends on how long your AIT is) or getting civilian linen if it is long( 4+ months). Good luck and don't do anything stupid is the best advice I can give you..AIT is not the time to screw around and get yourself in a mess of trouble. Do your time and get out.

I don't believe our unit or CIF issued linens to our Soldiers, however I may be completely off. What I do remember is that the Soldiers signed for the furniture in their room.

Most sure way of figuring it out, give CIF a call. Even if they did issue you "something", you'd probably still want your own set anyways.

The answer is no. The last time I received linen when I was stationed in Korea many moons ago. Even if the supply room gave you linen, you are not going want it for it will be a used white mattress cover, a used white sheet, and a used itchy O.D. green wool blanket. Do you want that? Go to a retail store and buy your own. This way you can be artistic and different than everybody else.

If I remember correctly from when I lived in the barracks, sheets and blanks were provided but that was like almost 25 years ago.

Every unit that I've been to with barracks has had a supply of linens for Soldiers. All Soldiers went to the PX ASAP to purchase their own but there were linens available.

In the event that your unit doesn't provide them, ACS on post may be able to assist you.

Even if they do, buy your own. I slept in a sleeping bag the first month at my unit. Bought some crappy sheets and hated life. Bought some awesome ones and a comforter at BB&B, smiled with satisfaction. Buy your own when you get there.

Stay away from the woolen blankets! When ya get there, go to the PX and buy your own! They, as you probably know are scratchy! And I personally don't want to use some "used" sheets, and I know they've been laundered, but I used my own unless we had a "Junk on the Bunk" inspection.

Typically, it will be provided by your barracks management, but I wouldn't recommend using it since it will be your usual itchy Army linens. 20 bucks at the PX or Wal-Mart would be more than worth it in my opinion.

In the military we have to make assumptions sometimes and see how it plays out. You negate all the possibility of a bad outcome by taking your own linen. They don't take up much space. Good luck.

The bedding issue will depend on your unit it self. Once you get to Fort Stewart and at replacement you will get bedding. There will be a day at replacement a rep from your unit will come and talk to you all and that a question you can answer him or her. Do not try to bring too much with your right away because you will have no where to put it during your 10 day inproceeing to Ft. Stewart.

No linen is not provided. With that being said. You can live freely knowing u won't have to hospital fold or use that rough green blanket ever again lol
