Can anyone tell me what the 704th BSB, 2nd IBCT is about (Fort Carson)? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-anyone-tell-me-what-the-704th-bsb-2nd-ibct-is-about-fort-carson

So I have been an hospital medic for the last 3 years, and have never been a line medic. I'm hoping this will be my chance to head out with an infantry unit, and use my field trauma skills. Please let me know any info on this type of unit. At least, IMHO, anyway. I would tell you now to keep your head up and be resilient towards whatever is thrown your way. BSBs can be emotionally exhausting. He is a pretty squared away guy. 704th is the BSB for the infantry BCT. Lots of light Infantry problems to solve. The C Co is like any other C Co in a BSB. 40 patient hold. Ambulance Platoon etc. hugs, drugs, and specs. they are light so it is FLAs not tracks or Strykers. Biggest issue in the Brigade is movement just because of their mission and MTOE. You will spend more time in the Motor pool changing the Oil than you would starting an I.V. I know been there. One thing having field trauma skills is one thing. Hope and pray you never have to use them. For career progression You should consider the Army Flight Medic Program. The information I have read and please make your own inquiries show that Candidates in the Flight Medic program now go through Paramedic Training.
Most of the Line medics are E4 a few E5 yes. but once E5 they are looking to get off the line and do other stuff. Clinic NCO, etc. or reclass in a different Medical MOS. Some enjoyed the Line and simply transitioned over to CASH Units and Forward Surgical Teams. When I was in the Field being a Line medic was okay. In Garrison it sucked. I learned a lot when I was in a MASH unit always ask if I do this will it help my career down the road?
