When I was 16 I got in trouble (disorderly conduct) and 19 (trespassing) They’re misdemeanors only. would I still be able to become a mp? Can I be a Military Police if I have a criminal record? 2020-09-05T08:37:34-04:00 PV2 Private RallyPoint Member 6281043 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I been in for not to long and I’m thinking about reclassing as a MP when my window opens. It&#39;s a rather hard MOS field to get into. Also, you might not be able to get a security clearance because of your record. That would all be determined by those that do the back ground checks and give the GO/NO GO. If you can&#39;t get approved for the secret security clearance you will not be able to be in the 31 series. Stay out of trouble and you should be fine. The Army already has your background. Look up the qualifications for MP and discuss this matter with your re-enlistment NCO. Someone who have been doing the job for at least four years. Being a MP is not an easy job and requires absolute commitment. My two cents. If you get an expungement you would have those charges completely removed from your record. You would have to do get a lawyer but it would help you in a situation like this. With all the LEO scrutiny in society, anything questionable raises concern. Military has always set and maintained standards. Try a waiver and get the straight scoop. The rest is outside my scope re: Army Recruiting. Depends on the needs of the service, your record, and overall qualifications. Good luck, and even if you can&#39;t be an MP you can still serve admirably. Up to you.
