Can I be a SHARP and an EO rep at the same time?

My CSM wants me to be the Sharp and EO rep for my. Battalion. I was told I can’t be both is there a reg that states that if so which one is it and in what section does it state that. Thanks

you must be a SFC or up to be an EOA. As a SSG you can go to EOL school which I did last year it is just an additional duty unlike EOA which is an actual Billet. Sharp program is a totally different beast. I know being a SARC is a battalion level or higher I don't know the specifics on it off the top of my head.

My unit has one SSG for both SHARP and EO. It is possible. Whether it is a good thing for your unit to have less representatives is a different question.

Yes. I've done it. I have heard about a "reg" that did not allow it, but have never found it. I believe it is more of a recommendation, than a requirement. When in doubt, ask the EOA, and bounce it off Command Policy.

I was an EOL and just went to SHARP. I was told by the instructors at SHARP that I could not fill both roles but I don't know if it's regulatory or a recommendation.

As long as it is an additional duty you can serve both roles. If you serve either in a full-time position, you won’t be able to do both. I’m currently a SARC at the Installation level at Fort Gordon. As a full-time SARC or full-time Victim Advocate, you cannot have any other additional duties duty to having to be available at all times. To serve as a SARC, you have to be an E-7, so you’ll have to serve as a Victim Advocate as an additional duty. I hope this helps

It is discouraged to fill both roles as one- it can create a conflict of interest (as with any additional duties) hence changing POSH and secondly the functions and roles are different. Specifically the role you play as a VA when your SARC takes a case.
