Chances are, you will do a shake down when you get to Basic, and if those sleeves aren't on the proper packing list, you could lose them. But, it sounds like you suffer from shin splints, which could possibly open up a small can of worms on the other side of that slippery slope. Leave them home. Every year, at the beginning of summer XC training, I’ll get one or two runners that develop shin splints. Stretching their calf muscles regularly has really helped. You’d also want to run on a softer surface (grass, dirt, etc) until it resolves. You can also ice them, and take an antinflammatory. Oh—and at present, you should take a few days off from your running. It’s not really something you can ‘run through’. And—keep stretching your calf muscles. Every day. Anything was had to issued. The compression things would probably have to come from medical. Oh yeah, dont get your hair cut before you go thinking you'll impress the DI's there. You'll get a lot of shit from them if you do. We had guys who did that and got a good yelling at. That was 1993. Things are softer now. Semper fi and good luck.
