Originally I did so because I knew that I would miss being in, but I experienced some situations that made me feel as though it was time to go. After counseling, I decided that it would not be mentally conducive (I was assaulted twice and yes, I did report both incidences). When I went back to the recruiter, he told me that I was committed and that I would not be able to get out of the contract. Is this true? Can I cancel my Army Reserve contract?2018-03-13T22:26:08-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3444611<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am transitioning out of the Army but signed up for reserves. You do not that you are required to serve a total of 8 years- how that is split up is in your hands for the active duty part. As long as the active/IRR/NG USAR equals a total of 8 then you are done, unless you decide to stay later. As for a contract- Did you sign a Reserve contract? Yes- then you probably are stuck till you can talk to someone higher than the recruiter No- Then you thank him kindly and go home- making sure that your active unit knows you are asking for IRR, not USARResponse by SGM Bill Frazer made Mar 13 at 2018 10:34 PM2018-03-13T22:34:55-04:002018-03-13T22:34:55-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member3444697<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I’m pretty sure until your contract begins (which it shouldn’t until you are released from active duty) you can rescind it.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2018 10:53 PM2018-03-13T22:53:41-04:002018-03-13T22:53:41-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member3445374<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A contract is a contract.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 14 at 2018 8:13 AM2018-03-14T08:13:58-04:002018-03-14T08:13:58-04:00CW3 Private RallyPoint Member3447036<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'll checl 4Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 14 at 2018 5:28 PM2018-03-14T17:28:54-04:002018-03-14T17:28:54-04:002018-03-13T22:26:08-04:00
