So long you are not in a Reserve Componet contract, you are not obliged until you sign and take your Oath prior to ship out.Response by MAJ Javier Rivera made Dec 10 at 2019 9:12 PM2019-12-10T21:12:30-05:002019-12-10T21:12:30-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member5331253

Once you sign that dotted line, that's it.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2019 5:21 AM2019-12-11T05:21:33-05:002019-12-11T05:21:33-05:00MSgt Michael Smith5332083

Probably not.Response by MSgt Michael Smith made Dec 11 at 2019 10:00 AM2019-12-11T10:00:03-05:002019-12-11T10:00:03-05:00SFC Michael Hasbun5332895

Yes, you have to request the "Fort Polk" option. Talk to the recruiter to see if it changed.

When I decided to joint it was when I was in college and the Army was doing this program "College First." If you had up to 2 years left in college you could sign up, you got a stipend and had to go to DEP functions (or whatever it's called now) and then enlist after graduating. I was told from the day I signed up I could get college loan repayment. The day I went to go to MEPS, the recruiter says "I was looking through your contract and didn't see college loan repayment. Just tell them to fix it when you get there."

I got there. Told the person I talked to what happened and didn't expect much. Well the guy got it in my contract because when I signed up for that program, loan repayment was part of it - and then 2 months later changed to 3,000 bonus. I was considered grandfathered into the LRP.

But you were told no initially so it's most likely to be no. I don't get why you enlisted if you wanted LRP.

The only one who can give you an accurate answer is your recruiter.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2019 4:10 PM2019-12-11T16:10:58-05:002019-12-11T16:10:58-05:002019-12-10T20:04:08-05:00
