Can I change my discharge code from RE4 to RE3, and will that allow me to enlist again?

I was discharged in 2000 and am getting "old" for the service now, but I really want to get back in. I would have to go the Air Guard route.
I would love to get back in my old AFSC, but Security Forces are pretty much tapped out...perhaps Emergency Management?

The main obstacle? Getting my RE code changed from a 4 to a 3 (since the condition no longer exists).

What do you think?

The hearing normally takes less than an hour but the Board will take whatever time is necessary to hear your case, there is no time limit. If you have counsel your counsel will likely make an opening statement on your behalf then ask you questions, and then in that way draw out your testimony.

Here is the issue: if you were issued a RE-4, you would have to prove it was erroneous to get it upgraded. If it accurately reflected the reason behind your discharge, they will not upgrade it.

I was told in '06 that an RE3 was what prevented me from re-enlisting in the NG.

I should amend this question as I was mislead (or confused myself - which seems to occur every now and again when you're involved in so much stuff as I am). I received a 2Q reentry code - medically retired/discharged. I believe, somewhere along my journey, I was told this would be like getting a 4 code changed, hence the confusion.

I waa WRONGFULLY discharged; Gen. Under honorable conditions for Scoliosis.

Here's the problem- I dont HAVE scoliosis.

Been trying to get my med records since 2000. I passed MEPS...graduated bootcamp with my class: 1043 Alpha Co. Lead series.

I waa given an RE4 for a b.s. discharge of a condition I DONT HAVE and was denied P.E.B. and benefits. This would have (most likely) been my 17th year in service.
Miss it every day and JAG told me they only work withactive, retired or reserve.
