The Option 4 (airborne) or Option 40 (which is rare for PS) wasn't available that day. I didnt raise my hand that day, so with that being said is it possible for me to get the Option 4 or 40 on my contract the day i actually sign my contract and swear in ? or am i pretty much set on 11X. could i talk to the station commander of the recruiting office or someone at Meps for a clearer answer as well ? Can I change some stuff around on my contract before I ship out? 2019-11-03T01:01:23-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5195263

(Mind you, before answering note that I switched from guard to active with no break in service)
So when I went through the process of choosing to change my MOS i got the 11X contract which is what i wanted to get my foot in the door. However, don't expect them to be amenable to reworking a contract that is already essentially a done deal. They are going to tell you that "you can do that when you get there, or when you get to your unit," which just puts you in the same "best of luck" boat as everyone else.

So, like buying a car, if you REALLY need this in your contract, be prepared to walk away. Once you sign that contract, that is it. You are locked in. There is no changing anything on it. You should have held out. Plain speak they punked you as Airborn in a contract is always available. For active duty you are not under contract until you sign and swear your DD4 prior to ship out. So yes, you could change a contract. If that’s what you want try to do it before reporting to MEPS on your shipping day. Again, you’ll Isa some folks since it requires them taking time from other stuff on their daily operation. And don’t be surprised if the answer is no. It will piss people off. I would call them first thing tomorrow morning when the office opens up and tell them though. Don’t be that guy who shows up the day of and then wants something changed.
