Can I do ROTC while on Active duty status?

Thinking no. However each branch has programs for “enlisted commissioning “ where you serve in AD but attend college, commission, and have a service commitment that follows. Look into that.

No. Being contracted into an ROTC BN means you belong to that Battalion as a cadet. That would be your new "unit". You would therefore no longer be enlisted and could not continue on active duty.

It's in the name, Reserve Officer Training Corps.

No you cannot. Technical reasons aside, you cannot serve two separate organizations simoultaneouly. If you wish to become an Officer, research the rules and Perdue which best suits you.

Negative. You are either a member of the SMP program (which is for Reserves and Guard) or you are doing the Green to Gold program. One or the other. Can't have both.

There is a special active duty option for college Army ROTC, but there are also many requirements and caveats. Applicants must still meet cadet standards (e.g. age, time in service, medical, commander recommendation, etc.) and it is a two year only program. Active duty option also means that you get active duty pay and GI Bill (if qualified), but do not get scholarship for tuition.

Negative big man, but if you look into doing online schooling using your GI Bill, while on active orders. You can attempt to go to OCS when you've graduated and received your degree.

There is an Active Duty Option Green to Gold program. You have to have completed two years of college and be on AD - not AGR or ADOS - to apply. The program is very competitive.

If you do the green to gold program, I believe you are classified as an active duty soldier through rotc/college.

There is a Green to Gold Active Duty Option but it is primarily for Soldiers who have made the rank of Sergeant or higher. It is based on the Scholar, Athlete, Leader concept. Leader is proved by receiving a few exemplary NCOERs (evaluations).

Good question. Typically, ROTC leads to commissioning and you have to attend the courses and do the training ADVANCED Course training. Your basic training course will substitute for the initial ROTC requirements. I did a program called simultaneous membership program. I was not on active duty, but in the National Guard. I attended drills with the guard, and did the training and assessment requirements of ROTC while in college simultaneously, hence the name. You get paid your ROTC stipend still, and then get your National Guard drill pay as well at E5 pay grade.
Recommend you talk to ROTC Professor of Military Science for the college you want to attend and he/she can let you know what they can do for your particular situation.

There are a couple of people I know that did Green to Gold. That would be the only way unless you get out of Active duty then go into college while joining the USAR or National Guard
