Sgt Daniel Tillman 6303364

I am going on active duty as an E5. Coming from USMC to Army. My new MOS will be 14P at Ft Sill and i was wondering if anyone here had a personal experience with prior service having POVs. Ive seen a few posts on RP saying yes, maybe, as well as no. My recruiter says no because my plane ticket already have been bought. However, the majority of posts and videos ive seen say yes, bring your car. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Can i drive my POV to AIT as a prior service going actuve duty Army? 2020-09-12T09:10:54-04:00 Sgt Daniel Tillman 6303364

I am going on active duty as an E5. Sill policy. You need to contact the training Command at Fort Sill. As prior service, everything dealing with your transportation, including whether you can drive your car to the location, is done at MEPS. When I did it, the MEPS liaison asked me if I wanted to fly or did I want to drive my POV.

The bottom line, you'll need to get your request to the MEPS liaison that processed you into the army to see they can change your transportation method. Ask your recruiter if they can submit a request to change your orders. If that doesn't work, I would try to send them an email on global. You should be able to find their name on the paperwork given to you at MEPS.

Of course, if the job course or installation has some rule against it, you can't do it. For that, I would say give them a call and ask them directly. Currently right now, does not matter if you are prior service or not, there is not leaving the post with or without a personal vehicle. You need to contact your training house at Ft Sill and find out because while yeah you might be able to have the vehicle there. It does you no good if all it is is there and you cannot drive it off post. Though, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to have your car as prior service. Also you being a prior service NON-IET/MOS-T and NCO they should be fine for you to have your POV. If I may ask where are you going to AIT Response by SSG Dennis Mendoza made Sep 15 at 2020 4:29 PM 2020-09-15T16:29:06-04:00 2020-09-15T16:29:06-04:00 2020-09-12T09:10:54-04:00
