Can I get a waiver for my GT score for the job I wanted? Or, what should I do since I’m a Poole right now?

Nicholas Reyes - Here is my advice. If you want in the Marines, do the research on the MOSs that you qualify for and are interested in, then pick one and join. While you are in, you should be able to (at some point) be able to retake your ASVAB. Beef up on the areas that make up the GT portion. If your heart is still on Infantry, then do what you have to do IOT get into the Infantry. However, you may just end up truly enjoying your chosen field and want to stay in it.

MSG (Join to see) GT Waivers *do* exist. I had an MI Soldier whose recruiter I cursed on a daily basis for somehow getting him one.

I do not know how often they are used in today's recruitment game, if at all, but I do know that they are not impossible in theory.

I went in open contract, thought I was going to be assigned infantry, was offered linguistics in bootcamp (turned it down because they said I had to sign a two year extension, worst time to ask... bootcamp, should have taken that option), but ended up in the airwing as an avionics tech. Well he just told me I have to pick another job
