<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I recently came back from SFAS. I made it up to day 18 before I was IW for failure to perform. Team week really kicked my ass and it was a big realization that I need to get physically better before I try again. It was my second attempt at selection so I was given an automatic NTR. Is it possible to get a waiver for this NTR since the reason was for a performance issue?Tue, 04 May 2021 19:34:51 -0400Can I get a waiver for my NTR?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>That's the whole reason it means Never to Return. SFAS isn't about how physically ready you are, but being physically ready makes it easier to handle. It's about how you perform once you're past your breaking point. When your body says it's done are you the kind of person who tells it to keep on going or not?<br /><br />In SFAS you aren't just assessed on your physical performance, there are multiple areas - whole Soldier concept - that are taken into consideration together. You can be a beast but not get along with others. You can be the weakest member but still be value added to the team in other areas. Where do you think you scored in other areas?<br /><br />Exceptions to policy are for exceptional people or exceptional circumstances. What about you or your circumstances is exceptional? If your request for an ETP reads that you simply showed up unprepared - twice - nobody wants that guy on their team. That's why there is a two time NTR policy. So how do you plan to lay out your appeal to the Commandant of SWC, a Major General, to explain how you or your situation has changed exceptionally and how you would be a valuable member to a team?SFC Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 04 May 2021 20:47:23 -04002021-05-04T20:47:23-04:00Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 4 at 2021 11:27 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Did you get an ARSOF NTR or just SF NTR? You probably won’t go back through SFAS. But you can go to Pysops or CA if you didn’t get an ARSOF. If you did you can still do tier 1 units (smus) ranger or SOARSSG Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 04 May 2021 23:27:47 -04002021-05-04T23:27:47-04:00Response by SFC Craig Titzkowski made May 5 at 2021 12:16 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>These guys are telling the truth. Not everyone should wear a long tab and it doesn't make you lesser of a person. It just means that job isn't for you. You have a new task and that's figure out what your good at and love it. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>NTR (Never To Return) in Monopoly speak is "Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200.00." If the SFAS told/marked you as NTR, then that's it.MSG Private RallyPoint MemberWed, 05 May 2021 00:56:55 -04002021-05-05T00:56:55-04:00Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 5 at 2021 9:21 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>We see it happen a LOT in the SORB. Soldier gets NTR from SF, still wants to go back so puts in packet for CA or PSYOP, gets picked up first trip to CAAS/POAS and absolutely loves the new job. <br />SF isn't the only "special" thing in the Army (and a LOT of people who try out have no clue what SF is and should be going to RASP instead for what they want to do).<br />CA and PSYOP are equal tier with SF, have more work than SF, and directly apply to more civilian jobs than SF. If its an ARSOF NTR, you're done with SOF (SMUs look at the NTR lists), if it's just NTR SF - you still have 2/3 of the ARSOF MOS' to try out for.CW2 Private RallyPoint MemberWed, 05 May 2021 14:45:59 -04002021-05-05T14:45:59-04:00Response by MAJ Byron Oyler made May 6 at 2021 9:15 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Army has a nice way of meeting its needs and sometimes it is not warm and fuzzy. Right now your NTR means that but that does not mean it cannot change in the future if operators start dying in large numbers or applicants stop coming.MAJ Byron OylerThu, 06 May 2021 09:15:01 -04002021-05-06T09:15:01-04:002021-05-04T19:34:51-04:00
