Their AIT is broken into sections with you having to pass the current one before moving to the next one. One of them is equipment identification and from what I’ve been told results in the most failures. The AIT is 22 weeks long and following graduation you can literally go anywhere from a MICO all the way to a COCOM ACE. The Gulf community is a weird group of individuals that tend to play games more than actually work. If you are at a strategic command like USINDOPACOM, CENTCOM, or EUCOM, you will be required to pass NGA certification to actually work. If you fail, then enjoy your time on staff. The tactical units the teams are very tight and very diverse. In the aspect of learning other jobs and often working in those MOS’s when deployed. I honestly never did my job down range I always ended up working with the infantry. As I remember it, AIT is in Fort Huachuca (God only knows if I spelled it correctly) and I was stationed at Fort Shafter. Good luck.
