Can I go back in?

I got out on an honorable discharge from the army. I’m trying to go air force reserve security forces. I want to know if it’s possible with an RE4? What daily life is like in the air reserve? And what the job consists of?

No. RE-4 is code for "under no circumstances"

It's not going to happen. An RE-4 is a non-waiverable disqualification. I suppose you could ask for a correction of military records, but that's not likely to work.

So....you are currently NOT in the military, correct? I deduce this based on your comment that you are TRYING to go Air Force Reserves. Which tells me you are NOT in. Then pray tell why your profile states you are in the Air Force Reserves Security Forces and First Cook at 1CD HHC STB with US Army PFC rank?

Oh. By the way, RE-4 is non-waiverable. Not going to happen. RE-3 is waiverable.....it's a tough one to get, but it is doable.....kinda.

I’m agreeing with everyone else here. A 4 is a killer, but even a 3 or 3A in today’s climate will kill that thought. Best thing is to ask a recruiter, but with the focus on younger and more agile troops, it ain’t looking good. What’s the worst that could happen if you try?

RE-4 cannot re-enlist and the Air Force is the branch least likely to grant waivers.

PFC Private RallyPoint Member I am ticks hair away from getting back in w/ an RE3 (Medical Discharge). They would not let me go back into Security Forces in order to alleviate concerns over any further hearing loss.
If you are going to be in this fight and be true about it, find yourself a hell of a recruiter. Find one that will not disappear at the first sign of difficulty. They will want to get their easy ins over one they might have to work on for over a year.
I had to get a waiver just to go to MEPS. MEPS then had to clear me, which paved the way for a Surgeon General's waiver. Then I had to get accepted into a unit. Now I will have to submit a Med Waiver for my chosen AFSC.
I've only been fighting for close to 19 years to get back in.
