SFC Private RallyPoint Member 4548395 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So, someone keeps telling me I can have the military move my stuff free of charge once a year like a PCS move. I have never heard of this. I am planning to PCS to Korea in January but thought maybe to move my family back to Colorado early so we can buy a house. Has anyone ever heard of this? Can I have the Army move my stuff once a year even if it’s not a PCS? 2019-04-15T20:54:58-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 4548395 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So, someone keeps telling me I can have the military move my stuff free of charge once a year like a PCS move. IT will move you when you have orders to PCS, ETS or retire. You can, however, move the family at your expense, buy the house and deduct the moving expenses from your taxes. You PCS, ETS and the military will pay for that. Have that someone show you where in the regs, otherwise they are just like barracks lawyers, about as knowledgeable and correct as the mud we clean from our boots. You can do partials, but you need to be in synch with the JPPSO. There are many variations of a PCS move, but they are all paid for by the appropriation data on your orders. No orders, no appropriation data, no move.
