(This is not a immediate decision, both her and my family also agreed on us) (She is citizen of Korea, but she used to have F1 Visa (now expired because she moved back to Korea)
and studied in USA. She was also my high school friend back in LA)

If there is, what are the procedures and documents that she and I need to prepare? Can I invite someone from outside the country to come to the US to file for marriage? 2019-10-06T22:48:13-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 5098043

I met my girlfriend when I was deployed in Korea Camp Humphreys.
Now I am back to Fort Bliss, I am asking if there is a way to invite my girlfriend legally
to USA so I can file marriage. Best of luck to both of you. The field office in Seoul is now closed so the process will take a little longer but the packets are in there. My wife is also korean. We applied for a CR-1 visa. Once its approved your wife will get a 2 year green card. After her 2 year green card is almost up she can apply for a 10 year green card. Also I just found out that if you are in the military when you get the visa that your spouse can apply for citizenship after 3 years. But yes loo it up in uscis.gov. Out of the hundreds of service members I knew in a span of 45 years, who married forgien nationals.. just a handful stayed married...one Navy retired LDO 0-3 is on his 4th Phillipina. Another Marine E-7 1 Chilean 1 Phillipina 1 Chinese..the 3rd one is shakey... but I have seen some success stories as well. She started a chain migration for her family. At the 10 year mark she divorced him and picked up 1/2 his retirement. She is now retired and living like a Queen in the PI.
