<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I went to see a doctor because I twisted my ankle in basic but he thought it would do good to let me out for a medical unconditional discharge and try to re-enlist in 6 months. I have NEVER had problems with my ankles in my life so I know I could pass this physical easily and get all the referrals i need but is it hard with the RE3 code on my DD214?Wed, 22 Aug 2018 23:34:26 -0400Can I join the Air Force with an RE-3 code?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If your ankle is good to go based off of the prognosis of a medical doctor, and you have a recruiter willing and wanting to do the legwork (this is the KEY PART), then there should be no problem getting a waiver with an RE-3. While I'm not a Recruiter, this is how I understand the rules. Speaking of someone with many years in, I do find it odd that a doctor in Basic would go straight to medical discharge for a twisted ankle.MSG Private RallyPoint MemberThu, 23 Aug 2018 00:14:11 -04002018-08-23T00:14:11-04:00Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 23 at 2018 12:54 PM

Documentation. Documentation. Find a kick-ass recruiter that won't disappear at the first sign of difficulty. You will need a waiver to go to MEPS. You will need to go to MEPS to get cleared for a waiver. You will then, most likely, need a Surgeon General's waiver, just to get back in.<br />Your situation seems much easier a path than mine, and I'm but a Surgeon General's waiver away now.SSgt Private RallyPoint MemberThu, 23 Aug 2018 12:54:39 -04002018-08-23T12:54:39-04:002018-08-22T23:34:26-04:00
