SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3726047 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a 92Y in an infantry unit. I plan on going to Ranger School. I have already passed the RPFT and have participated in multiple field problems with my unit (Squad STX, LFX, BDE FTX) one of which has earned me an AAM. My unit wants to volunteer me to do an EIB APFT. Is it allowed for me to participate in an EIB course even though I am not 11 or 18 series? Also, would studying EIB tasks help prepare me for Ranger School in any way? Can I participate in an EIB even though I am not 11 or 18 series? Would studying EIB tasks prepare me for Ranger School? 2018-06-19T22:20:11-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3726047 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a 92Y in an infantry unit. I never got a tab, but I’m just speaking for he rangers I know. The Ranger tab is a three month long course. The best hung is stay in shape and download the ranger book. Be a team player because it is a big course that consist of company size to a battalion size element. It would be a great introduction and training event to prepare you for Ranger School. <br /><br />What I would do if I were you is fill out a 4187 to request assignment.to the 75th Ranger Regiment. Ranger Regiment<br />Ent will prepare you and also send you to Ranger School.<br /><br />Always remember, The tab is just a school, the Scroll is a way of life!!!!<br /><br />Good luck Response by MAJ Chris Rice made Jun 21 at 2018 11:34 AM 2018-06-21T11:34:23-04:00 2018-06-21T11:34:23-04:00 LTC Private RallyPoint Member 3731163 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes yes and yes. You won’t be able to get EIB or CIB without being 11 series but the learning will help you in ranger school and will be listed in you educational file Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 21 at 2018 3:54 PM 2018-06-21T15:54:17-04:00 2018-06-21T15:54:17-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 3749323 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Studying for the EIB and going through the train up and your installations &quot;Best Warrior&quot; will undoubtedly prepare and set you up for success in any school you attend throughout your military career as these tasks demonstrate your ability to master attention to detail Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 27 at 2018 11:11 PM 2018-06-27T23:11:28-04:00 2018-06-27T23:11:28-04:00 CPT Private RallyPoint Member 3749419 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes you can go to the eib for training. I would highly recommend it. At Ranger school you have to do the ranger training tasks. If you fail four of the seven tasks you will be dropped from rap week. These tasks mirror EIB. Not trying to discourage you or anything, but I&#39;m curious what the benefit of Ranger School would be for a supply specialist (other than promotion points)...that and I guess I would be a little jealous if you can get it considering that I submitted 4187s (7) times as an Infantry Team Leader/Squad Leader and never could get a slot. Technically you can, but you are not a priority. If your unit is short EIB cadre, or all units participating are present for the training, you may be out of luck. Some units won&#39;t let support go through it some will. Good luck if you do or did. Good luck in Ranger school.
