Can I put in a COT if I don’t have exactly 36 months in my contract after DEROS?

Currently in Korea and my Deros is in April 2023. Is it possible to do a COT to Germany? My contract ends March 2025 does that matter since it won’t be 36 months. I’m willing to extend my contract just so I could put in a COT. I ask because I don’t want to go through the process if I know it won’t get approved because of that.

You put the COT in and you're placed on assignment. Once you're placed on assignment you have 45 days to reenlist or extend to the required date. In this case, three years after your report date to Germany.

So if my COT gets approved to Germany I’m able to re enlist or extend my contract even if I’m not in my window yet?

PFC (Join to see) yes, you're required to. Being placed on assignment generates a Service Remaining Requirement, or SRR. Once you incur an SRR you have 30 days to meet the SRR through extension or reenlistment, or sign a declination statement and ETS.
