I’ve been a medic in the ARNG 3.5 years, injured my lower back in AIT, and never said anything and went about my life. It’s been coming back now for about 2 years to where I cannot run or do squats. Once I bent over to tie my shoe and my back went out and I could not even sit up on my own. It is mostly in the lower left back, just above the buttock. It is constantly aching when I walk or sit for too long. I got x-rays with my chiropractor and it showed that it is misaligned and one leg is essentially longer than the other one, and that my spine is “too straight” and narrowing the space in my lower back, causing pain. They want to do treatment but at least 3x a week for a few months but I cannot afford that and was wondering if there was anyway the army would help for some or all of it. I have no idea how any of it works with Tricare or anything. I want to bring it up at our PHA but don’t want to be discharged.

SPC (Join to see) I think the challenge you'll have is proving the back injury was at AIT, even if you went to sick call and got told to drink water and take Motrin, it would be the start of the paper trail.

Not sure about the ARNG- but if you don't seek care- you could be discharged for not being able to keep up to standards.. If US caused it then you need to see if they will fix it. If you don't report it, then they don't have to do anything.
