Can I reclass?

My current MOS is over strength. 88M E5.I'm currently a 88M trying to change my MOS to 11B or 19D. I have been in 5 years,10 months and current rank of SGT(E5 non promotable). Can a unit be able to give me a letter of acceptance and reclass me?

NO, you will have to wait until your reeinlistment window opens up and then reclass as long as these MOS's are accepting SGT's.

Have you seen your Career Counselor about a voluntary reclassification? Eligibility is determined by individual qualifications.

Thats good to know, I was always told you could not reclass unless you were in your window for reenlistment or had a secondary MOS you wanted back into.

19D is overstrength, and I haven't seen a class seat for 11B for a while. If you're really serious about 11B, go to Ranger School, earn your tab, and reclass into 11B that route.
