Can I reclassify to 68P and find a job in the same field after AIT?

I am currently a 91b active duty member , I want to reclass to 68p and go national guard as I want to go back to school and get a degree in the same field as a 68p . I was wondering if i will be allowed to switch over to national guard and reclass as a 68p and find a job as an X-ray tech right after AIT?

Yes you can do that, assuming you find a reserve or guard slot for it. Plus, you may wait a year or two till you get sent to training.

As a Radiology Specialist? Pretty the interpretation of the exams of the digestive, respiratory, vascular and nervous system with X-rays and related equipment is the same for civilians as it is for soldiers. The MOI may be different though.

Hey man you can reclassify if your gr score is high enough and you get a good retention nco. I was 68p once you finish papa school you can get your associates within a few classes and challenge the registry but your guard unit has to have the mtoe for a tech and that’s rare so why not just stay active as a papa for the enlistment getvyour registry after you obtain that associates and then if you are registered all army hospitals will let you train modalities like ct or mri to you to get those registries cause those just take a lot of ojt and you can then challenge them a lot more money. I got screwed and have only gotten in field units but that’s rare
