Can I reenlist and reclass after signing a DCCS statement? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-i-reenlist-and-reclass-after-signing-a-dccs-statement <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I have been trying to reenlist and reclass MOS from 74D to 35T. My ETS date is next year July. Unfortunately I received order to South Korea starting in September this year. So I went to my career counselor and he told me that the only way to get my orders removed and reclass is to sign a DCCS statement stating that by the time I get there I will not have enough time left in my contract to do the full tour (South Korea is a year). So I signed the DCCS, he told me that after the paper go through that I will be able to reenlist and reclass, since it is my first contract, that shouldn&#39;t be a problem. <br />I just want some clarification to know if I will really be able to reenlist or what will be my outcome. <br /><br />Serious answer only. Once that is through then you can reenlist<br /><br />If you signed an actual form that has about 10 places you had to initial then that was a DCSS. As a first term Soldier you are not required to sign that. If this was your second reenlistment and you signed a DCSS then you would not be allowed to reenlist. If you did sign a DA 4991-R then your Career Counselor made a mistake, but it is one they can fix SFC Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 25 Jun 2021 01:40:11 -0400 2021-06-25T01:40:11-04:00 Response by SFC Michael Hasbun made Jun 25 at 2021 8:43 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-i-reenlist-and-reclass-after-signing-a-dccs-statement?n=7068134&urlhash=7068134 <div class="images-v2-count-1"><div class="content-picture image-v2-number-1" id="image-607369"> <div class="social_icons social-buttons-on-image"> <a href='https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fcan-i-reenlist-and-reclass-after-signing-a-dccs-statement%3Futm_source%3DFacebook%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_campaign%3DShare%20to%20facebook' target="_blank" class='social-share-button facebook-share-button'><i class="fa fa-facebook-f"></i></a> <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Can+I+reenlist+and+reclass+after+signing+a+DCCS+statement%3F&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fcan-i-reenlist-and-reclass-after-signing-a-dccs-statement&amp;via=RallyPoint" target="_blank" class="social-share-button twitter-custom-share-button"><i class="fa fa-twitter"></i></a> <a href="mailto:?subject=Check this out on RallyPoint!&body=Hi, I thought you would find this interesting:%0D%0ACan I reenlist and reclass after signing a DCCS statement?%0D%0A %0D%0AHere is the link: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-i-reenlist-and-reclass-after-signing-a-dccs-statement" target="_blank" class="social-share-button email-share-button"><i class="fa fa-envelope"></i></a> </div> <a class="fancybox" rel="3c4129c1a8694ccb5e5756cf3f57376b" href="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/607/369/for_gallery_v2/b99f8af8.JPG"><img src="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/607/369/large_v3/b99f8af8.JPG" alt="B99f8af8" /></a></div></div>The answer is on the form. I had to see my Brigade Commander to make it happen as he held the authority for removing the DCCS. I even got a lump sum $27K bonus (minus taxes) as part of the deal. <br /><br />It’s a pretty inflexible thing, but there’s always a way to get a waiver.
