Can I reenlist into the Army after being discharged for misconduct?

Does anyone know someone who currently reenlisted after receiving a chapter 14-12c?

Don’t want to come across as an asshole but, what did you do to get discharged for misconduct and what made you change you mind about staying in the army? RE-3 isn’t impossible to get a wavier but you have to show the full bird colonel who signs off on the wavier you won’t be a bad apple so to speak.

What is your RE, or reentry eligibility, code? RE-4 is a permanent disqualifier. RE-2&3 require waivers.

So what was the serious offense according to the type of discharge you could’ve spent time in confinement also with this type of discharge your RE Code would be a 4 which means permanent disqualification for Military Service

14-12c is MAJOR misconduct. This is DUI/ Sexual Assault territory here. Sincerely doubt it, and one should hope not...

Difficult to answer without the RE code and the separation code. I will make a wild guess and say you have an RE CODE 4, which means that you are permanent disqualified, no waiver authorized.

Would depend highly on the nature of discharge and reentry code listed on your DD214.

As a former background investigator on the LE side, it always comes down to the same three questions. Number one, how severe was the offense and your intent at the time? Number two, did you express remorse, and show efforts to correct the misconduct to the satisfaction of all parties? Number three, what have you done in a genuine and habitual fashion to show overcoming the prior offense? Not to discourage, however, depending on your reenlistment code and prior actions, it would be best to speak with an attorney in your area that is familiar with these kind of issues. When I am listed, I had to overcome the same question due to getting in trouble as a juvenile for theft. I had to work very hard to demonstrate how I had grown up to the recruiting board at the time. The best policy is always honesty and humbleness. I hope this helps.
