Can I reenlist with Reentry Code : 3a, JFW?

About 2.5 years ago I enlisted. It was a quick process and I was barley getting out of my depression. I left for basic and then my depression kicked in pretty bad. I got sent home and got Reentry code : 3a, JFW. I've talked with a few recruiters and they weren't trying to deal with the paper work at all. The last time I spoke with a recruiter was from the Marines and the recruiter seemed like he did not want to deal it at all . Honestly was disappointed because , he seemed like he was really trying to help me in a way. It's been months since I talked to a recruiter. I want to reenlist so bad . I've heard of either 1. Doc's note or 2. The recruiter just pushing it through. So my question is what can I really do ?

The recruitment process is based on meeting a mission and recruiters are rated on the number and quality of the recruits. If they are meeting their service needs with others who are eligible they are not going to take a risk on a previous recruitment issue. This is not to mean they are holding it against you, when their are more recruits than slots they are obviously ranked. It is not based on when you knock on a recruiters door it is based on qualification.

Please do not take this as a set back, but rather a chance to find other opportunities in life. If the military is you goal keep knocking, in the meantime find something that suits you.

The question is this, is this depression under control? Does it require medication to treat? These are big issues and from the perspective of the military what is the benefit for them to take you back even if possible? Not trying to crush your dreams but it might be a better option to look at less stress inducing careers.

Reality is we have candidates without your issues. Dealing with enough members who acquired this condition from the job. Don’t need to take you coming through the door that way.
