However I just read an article not too long ago about such a thing. From what I read you can get a medical waiver to come back in, but you&#39;d lose the compensation and also the disability rating by going back &quot;voluntarily&quot; and also is your responsibility to tell the VA you returned active. Not sure how truthful the article was, but that&#39;s all the help I can give. Good luck. You have to be in pretty good shape to pass any military physical. I can&#39;t imagine any service taking you with service-connected disabilities. I don&#39;t think the VA will let you keep your rating though. I&#39;d speak with a Recruiter to find out. The Guard might be a good option if you already have a good Civilian job lined up. Depending on how long you&#39;ve been out there is a chance you&#39;ll have to go back through BCT, not 100% on that though. So the VA will pay you for the 28 days of the months that you are a &quot;civilian&quot; and the Army will pay you your 2 days for drill. I know several Soldiers within my BN that have over 50% (and some have like 75% or more) and they attend Battle Training Assembly for Retirement Points only.
