First, have that conversation with your DS. They can contact Branch and give them a heads up. NEVER contact Branch yourself while in IET status or it’s “Needs of the Army” for sure. Branch will give the answer based on what the Army needs at the time or within 30 days of your graduation. From what I understood last, the Army needs Airborne Cav Scouts so there’s hope. Ask your DS about ABN school and get your packet started. If there’s no time, log into your ASK and get on the volunteer list. Lastly, you can see if anyone else in your class is projected to Bragg. You might be able to swap with that other Soldier. In the meantime, wake up everyday better than the previous. Focus on yourself, build a solid foundation, and assist others along the way. Give your DS a reason to go the extra mile and fight for PFC Jenks. If works out and you're ordered to wherever, be open to it and face it head on. Once you’re in your reenlistment window (15 months from ETS) you’ll be able to reup for Bragg like I did my first reenlistment from JBLM. Bottom line... it takes communication. The worst answer will be “kick rocks”, but at least you tried.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 15 at 2019 5:40 AM2019-12-15T05:40:16-05:002019-12-15T05:40:16-05:00SFC Casey O'Mally5345206<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can request. When I reclassed as prior service I was told that all MOS-T could contact branch because according to Army regulation Reg 350-6, para 4-13 you have all the same privileges as permanent party personnel. I emailed my branch manager, letting him know in one concise email that I was an MOS-T about to graduate and I was told I could contact him due to my prior service status. I asked if about three assignments locations being available (Bragg, Campbell and Germany). He responded that 2 of them were unavailable to 35S and one was possible (Germany). I said I would like Germany if possible. He responded, “I’ll see what I can do”. A week later I was projected to go to Germany.
