I leave for basic in a few weeks, and I was just wondering if there is a way I can go to Airborne School even though it’s not in my contract. I always hear that you should get in your contract if you want it, but I didn’t do that because I didn’t really think about it then. I also heard it was possible to get it during AIT, so there’s that. Any information you could give me would be appreciated!

Yes you can. You'll have to call your branch manager and ask for it. If they have a need, you'll need to get an Airborne physical before you go. There are Airborne 35S, but I think most of them are in SOF assignments.

It’s rare but not impossible. There are only a few dozen 35S airborne positions in the Army. You’ll have a better chance of getting it when you re-enlist, like I did.

Only if it's offered to you and you are planning on spending three years in airborne status. Now, go research how many airborne units have slots for 35S.
