It'd depend a good deal on what AFSC you'd want on the ANG side...elaborate, if you can, OK? I have an interest in career/educ stuff...grades, GPAs, assocs, bach, majors, minors, STEM and non-STEM coursework, ultimate object...permanent ANG? Guard Tech? AGR? Eventual USAF active duty? USAFR? Flight interests? Grad school interests? Hobbies? Other interests? Reading tastes? Civilian work types thus far, with levels, at least generally? Supervisory stuff, if any thus far at all, whether civilian or USMCR? Sports, esp martial arts? The more you elaborate on here, the more I and/or others on here can try to suggest stuff for you, that's what I typically find to be the case, honest, no rush, whenever convenient, obv, OK?

And I've seen far weirder intersvc stuff, honest...I was Army ROTC 3 yrs, then went USAF OTS, when it was at Lackland in TX, before it was moved to Maxwell in AL...I saw a good many intersvc guys in the program, one guy even had Navy enlisted sub dolphins on his USAF blues, the only time I'd ever seen that, so what you're asking about shouldn't be all that novel, I should think, it'd just be a matter of us all getting sufficient detail as to what you're seeking to do, ultimately, as I'd said, OK?

Let me explain a little more, I love being in the military and I’m trying to continue my education, the marine Corp doesn’t give enough so I work all day for my civilian job. After being in for awhile I discovered I wasn’t really happy with myself, I wasn’t myself anymore and my wife noticed. I drive more than 200 miles to drill and money from drill basically covers gas going up and not down. There’s an air national guard and army national guard near me which can save me more money. If I can switch to either one I would be glad. It’s just the marine Corp has brought me down, physically and mentally even though it was suppose to be “break you down and build you back up” I’m unhappy where I’m at and ang or arng would help me a lot more

I would like to introduce you to Pvt Lynn McClure USMC ...He was beaten to death in Boot Camp by 6 recruits...I was beaten the same way in the same fighting ring but months earlier...I lived, he didn't. I am sorry you're suffering. To reflect on your decision I would visit a VA National Cemetery and walk among the head stones...feel free to explain to the USMC graves how hard the Marine Corps is and how your'e not yourself any more. Tell them a 200 mile drive is not worth it and how the Marines aren't giving you enough and how your broken down.. Then go to a VA hospital and maybe you can talk to a 95 year old Iwo Jima Veteran and tell him the same.

This only nominally needs high school, however, it's really rough to apply to, plus, Army WOCS is a very rough program, I've heard on here, and, we also had a family friend who'd been Army enlisted, got it, went Army rotary wing, then finished his bachelors in aviation at Embry Riddle Univ...Army then released him, USCG picked him up, he finished his 20 yrs as a USCG rotary wing O-3...this is merely one possibility, I'm not painting this as a panacea, I'm merely pointing out it exists, nothing more, just to make you aware of it, honest....

This just restarted awhile ago, fairly recently...this could be a very good route for you, if you'd be inclined at all toward cyber, esp if you hadn't considered warrant...the Army flight program for the Army WOCS is also warrant, however, being USMCR already, you're at least on the Navy side...I'm not saying that's a decisive factor, however, it merely crossed my mind to point out, if nothing else, you know?

I should perhaps explain a few other things, as well...if you really want a svc life, it's what you make of it...you have to be enthusiastic, you have to volunteer, you have to seek opportunity, you have to participate in charity drives, maybe that USMC Toys for Tots Program I see all the time...opportunity doesn't seek you out...I had to learn to function in the role, it took me way too long...I had to volunteer for charity drives where I was, participate in the Company Grade Officers Council (CGOC), do rad coursework when I wasn't in the office for my unit...as I said, I learned way too late, Im total perm disabled now, really long story, obv...that being said, if you want things, chances, opportunities, USMCR isn't going to ask you to do them, you have to WANT to do them, you have to WANT to SEEK them, OK?

Here's another one of the major aikido groups, I went to a weeklong seminar by them a cpl of yrs ago near us...you're gonna have to be real patient, it's not immediately practical, nor is it intended to be, however, it's extremely complex, and would def get your mental gears spinning, though you'd need a long while to adjust to how its done, though I assure you it's well worth it, promise....

the Japanese instructor from the US in this video taught at the Birankai seminar I'd gone to, and knows the US Aikido Federation guys I've known for 25 yrs +, he was there for the one exam I did, I've seen him personally twice, he was taught by the founder in Japan, and runs the US Aikido Federation, or is at least extremely high in it, I assure you, he's very much for real, honest....

You really wanna go ANG? You want real? You want rough? there's an ANG facility right near us, I met a cpl of their guys who do this through the aikido guys I know a cpl of times...this is just about one of the hardest USAF-related fields there is, however, it's most definitely on the level of Navy Seals or Marine Corps Recon, or any of the other Special Forces fields...I merely mention it as you'd mentioned wanting to try for ANG, that's all, just so you could at least look at it....

I realize I gave you a good deal here...my object isn't to overwhelm you, please know that...my object is to try to motivate you, by explaining to you that there isn't a day that goes by that I don't kick myself for not having made more proper use of the opportunities I had, I assure you...I'm not telling you that what I went through is what you're going through, I'd never do that, honest...however, all I can do, as I'd said, is merely cite specific examples to give you, to at least try to get you to cogitate about, if nothing else...look through what I'd sent here, if you'd wanna chat more, just lemme know, no rush, whenever convenient...if you want me to suggest more, I'll try...however, I learned, the hard way, that in a svc, your ambitions are your own, not that of the svc...you're there to help your unit, that's it, period...like a line from a movie I'd heard once, "No matter where you go, there you are"...what you make of it beyond that is obv entirely up to you, no one else...you have ambitions? Act on them...you're USMCR? Use what they have for now, till you can manage, if you can manage, to get where you think you want...just remember a few adages along the way, OK? First, the grass is always greener on the other side of the septic tank (joke from a famous comic, title of a book she'd written, I was always amused by that)...next, having a thing, as I've also found out the hard way, is pretty much always a really different thing than wanting a thing...then, also, the bloom wears off the rose real fast, OK? All svcs have their limitations, all jobs in all svcs also have them, as I think you'd quite rapidly find out, honest, truly, OK? Give what I'd said some thought, if nothing else...as I'd said, I'm here, if you wanna hear more, or wanna elaborate, anytime, OK?
