PFC Private RallyPoint Member 3534790 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Is there a way that can happen while I&#39;m here so I don&#39;t have to go back home? I don&#39;t have nothing to go back home anymore no job, no car and no apartment cause my ex fiance the primary person on the lease also my family needs my help to fix their house in PR due the hurricane and the guard pay is not going to be enough for me to succeed. Can I switch from national guard to active duty in AIT? 2018-04-11T16:26:03-04:00 PFC Private RallyPoint Member 3534790 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Is there a way that can happen while I&#39;m here so I don&#39;t have to go back home? I had to wait two years after AIT before I could make the switch. Your NG unit will have to sign a release for you to go Active. Just because you want to go Active doesn&#39;t mean that they have to sign the release. SSG Mullen in correct you have to get released from your state and AC has to be willing to take you. There might be a NG Liaison on the post you are at if so, request to go speak with them, they will be able to get the ball rolling. I was in AIT and wanted to go AC and the Reserve Liaison told me he could not help due to my unit not wanting to let me go.. You are at there mercy Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 13 at 2018 1:46 PM 2018-04-13T13:46:23-04:00 2018-04-13T13:46:23-04:00 MSG Private RallyPoint Member 3540803 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your state must release you. Visit an AD recruiter to see if he/she can get the ball rolling on a Conditional Release. There may be some pushback if you took a bonus or other incentive paid out by your state. Also how well your unit or state is doing on their strength.
