I know most of the time it usually takes less than a day to get from the states to Korea so using the travel card isn’t authorized. I leave on a Saturday but will get stuck in Seattle on Sunday and report to Korea on Monday. Would that authorize me to use my travel card for food while stuck at the airport waiting for my flight? Can I use my travel card PCSing to Korea? 2020-02-01T23:25:36-05:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 5509349

I am PCSing to Korea here shortly. The issue is that when you submit receipts for your voucher, you may or may not be reimbursed and may have to pay the bill for the food. But yes, you can use it for food during travel. I don’t see why you can’t get a hotel room for Sunday and meals. I believe the first and last days of traveling you get 3/4 of the daily meal rate. Make sure you detach yourself from DTS from the losing unit. The gaining unit can not arrive you for DTS if you fail to do so which may create a nut roll for you. Tell us what the DTS admin says. When you are on TDY you are not only entitled to use your GTC but supposed to. I think you can use your travel card for food while you are waiting for your flight. While on the road, you can access your usual funds to be okay. I recently went on a safari trip in Northern Tanzania with the help of https://altezza.travel/en/tanzania-safari, and while I was getting there, I could use my travel card. Overall I really enjoyed it and am considering going on another tour at the end of the year. Anyway, good luck with your trip to Korea, and don't forget to bring some extra snacks, just in case. Have fun and be safe on your travels.

Safari Tours in Northern Tanzania - Safari Holidays in Tanzania | Altezza Travel

Wildlife adventures of a lifetime in the exotic wildlife paradise - Tanzania! PCSing to Korea sounds like an exciting adventure! While I'm not familiar with specific travel regulations, it's worth checking with your relevant authorities or travel office to see if using your travel card for food during the layover in Seattle is authorized. They'll have the most accurate information to guide you. By the way, if you need assistance with planning your travel itinerary or checking schedules, you can find useful resources like the DB Fahrplan https://www.dbfahrplan.com/de/ . Wishing you a smooth journey and a great start to your new assignment in Korea!
