I'm attempting to transfer from the ARNG to the USAF Reserves and my state is sitting on my Conditional Release which was submitted mid-April this year. The story I'm getting from my S-1 is that they are keeping me for manning numbers until 1-OCT. The sad part is that once they approve the Conditional Release, it will take me at least 6 months to get into the USAF. Is what they are doing legal? Would filing an IG complaint be an option for me? What other options do I have to complete this transfer?

Sir, you are or have been a Commander I would assume- you should know that they can sign a"Conditional Release" when they dang will want to, and not before.

Sure, I understand, but its already signed by 2 commanders (through the BN) and the admin section of my state is sitting on it to play the manning numbers game. Regardless of who is holding it up, there must be some consideration given to the soldier's timeline. If they're not going to approve it, what other options do I have? Resign and then assess into the USAF Reserves?
