If your orders do not show that, they will need to be amended. Speak with your OLT sergeatn and they will take care of the rest. When I went through, I stayed at the barracks for the first three months to prove I was going to make it through the entire course. It cannot hurt to ask, contact the base housing office at the location of your training, they will know th policy for that facility. Thank you for your service. It will be very tough for you with family and that course I can tell you that... I was senior instructor at that school and seen many marriage struggle because of the school and family issues.... I know as far as a 25S, our company has quite a few people that live on post with their family. Some have their family moved in before they even Phase to V+. They still live in the barracks until they do phase and get their housing packet signed by the commander and 1SG.

I'd say it's likely depending on your MOS but don't count 100% on it as your chain of command may not approve. It may also be pertinent to know if the post your AIT is located has on post housing. I was prior service but I'll give you the run down as I understand it for iet soldiers. Yes you can move your dependents as a part of a Pcs move.
Understand that you will not be allowed to live off post with them until you are phase 5+ which will take you a few months, a passing PT test, no test score below 70, and a board in dress uniform. Until then you can visit them after school hours but you will sleep in the barracks and be back before bedcheck. If you lose your phase you may be forced to move back into the barracks, understand it's a privilege not a right.
Best of luck Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made May 16 at 2018 3:35 AM 2018-05-16T03:35:11-04:00 2018-05-16T03:35:11-04:00 2018-05-07T00:22:19-04:00
